Dear Dentologie Patients,
We hope we’re finding you healthy, safe, and as awesome as ever.
First off, we just wanted to take the chance to say a huge THANK YOU for being patient as we’ve been navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and the current shelter-in-place order. After a few weeks of being closed to regular appointments, we have some good news
We know many of you have been very eager to come back for your routine dental care – not to mention how eager we at Dentologie have been to see your gorgeous gums again. So we’re thrilled to announce that as of June 1, 2020, Dentologie will be open again for routine dental care. The thought of getting a regular teeth cleaning has never been so exciting!
Of course, the safety of our patients and staff remains our utmost priority. We’re reopening Dentologie because we believe prolonged limitation of dental care will be detrimental to the oral health of our patients.
However, we understand that we’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to COVID-19, so we wanted to update all of you about the protocols we’re putting in place to keep us all healthy and safe. With appropriate infection control, in-office social distancing, and an innovative approach to aerosol containment, we’re very confident we can deliver care in a safe, effective, and friendly manner. Here are just a few of the ways your dental visit will be a little different from what you’re used to:
- You’ll receive a pre-appointment questionnaire asking about symptoms, travel patterns, and other info related to COVID-19. Any patients who report flu-like symptoms or other concerns will be rescheduled at a convenient time at least 14 days later.
You’ll be required to wear face coverings or masks when entering a Dentologie location. You’ll only be asked to remove it when you enter the treatment room (Otherwise… it’d be pretty tricky for us to examine your teeth.)
Right when you come in our office, we’ll give you hand sanitizer to use before checking in and sitting down.
Upon arrival, we’ll take you to a separate room, take your temperature, and ask you a few screening questions. If your temperature is above 100.4 degrees, you may be asked to consult an in-house doctor and we’ll reschedule your appointment for a convenient time at least 14 days later.
We ask that you don’t bring anyone to accompany you to the office unless absolutely necessary. (That means you’d better tell your mom to stay home if you’re a grown-up.)
We’ll position waiting room seating to allow patients to remain 6 feet apart, disinfecting seats at routine intervals.
- We’ll ask you to gargle with Peroxyl mouthwash before being seated.
If you come in with your own gloves, we’ll (nicely!) ask you to remove them when coming in to minimize outside germs.
South Loop and Streeterville locations will open June 1st, and Bucktown will open June 8th. We totally expect normal hours of operations in the very near future, but for now, our hours will be:
In addition to the measures we’re taking with you, our patients, here’s how our staff will be working hard behind the scenes to make sure Dentologie is safe and sparkling clean.
All staff will be wearing proper PPE, including face masks, face shields, and clinical gowns.
All non-clinical areas (such as waiting rooms and restrooms) will be disinfected round the clock. They’ll also undergo a crazy thorough after-hours cleaning.
- All clinical areas will also be disinfected and cleaned routinely.
All surfaces will be regularly disinfected, including countertops, door handles, computers, faucets, light switches, phones… you get the idea.
All surfaces in the operatories will be disinfected in-between patients, according to OSHA and CDC standards. We’ll schedule appointments to allow for thorough infection control.
We’ll be utilizing cutting-edge dental appliances to improve clinical efficiency and better contain procedural aerosol.
We’ll use disposable instruments whenever possible. All other instruments will be sterilized according to OSHA and CDC standards.
Even the air is different here – literally. We’ve invested in ultraviolet sanitizing machines, making Dentologie air cleaner and better than the air you’ll breathe anywhere else. (Because you’re worth it!)
There’s even more where that came from – we’re constantly reevaluating our processes to make sure your Dentologie visit is completely safe and effective even during these uncertain times. If you have any questions or suggestions about our new protocols, please feel free to reach out to us. There’s nothing we love more than hearing from you guys!
And of course, if you have an emergency, please contact the South Loop office via telephone at (312) 846-6752 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks again for your patience and support during these uncertain times. We’re so psyched to see your smiling faces again when we reopen on June 1st!
